Everyone in business wants to beat the competition.  Sure, there are many ways to do this, but let’s talk about one thing you can start doing TODAY.  What is it?  Start by your number one asset: your people.  The happiest employees make the happiest and most satisfied customers, and the key to beating the competition.

Of course, there are a lot of ways to ensure your employees are happy.  In our experience one of the most underestimated, but highly motivating & important keys to employee happiness is TRAINING!  When your employees feel confident, they shine.  They also make your customers feel confident in doing business with you.  Again, happy = happy.  Your people want to do a good job.  Make sure you take the time to train them.

Remember:

  • If you want to keep your customers…. make sure your people know how to do their jobs. Competition is fierce. Choice is prevalent.
  • A highly satisfied customer is six times more likely to buy again.
  • Training doesn’t have to be formal. Even daily 5 minute stand-up meetings can help people understand areas to focus on and improve.
  • Put your money where your mouth is. Make training a piece of the compensation plan. Put a value against the training so people value its worth.
